Ukraine continues to strengthen its position in international logistics and customs integration with the European Union. According to the State Customs Service, in July 2025 more than 8,000 T1 transit declarations were processed in Ukraine — a new record since the introduction of the NCTS (New Computerised Transit System).
The NCTS system is a digital common transit platform that connects EU countries and the contracting states of the Common Transit Convention, which Ukraine joined on 1 October 2022. Its main goal is to simplify customs procedures, enable electronic declaration processing, and ensure transparent movement of goods between countries.
Ukraine has already started developing a new version of the system — NCTS Phase 6, which will be fully compatible with updated EU IT standards. The transition is planned to be completed by 2026.
This modernization will provide an even higher level of digitalisation, data security, and integration with the European customs infrastructure.
New opportunities for exporters and importers
The implementation of NCTS opens up significant advantages for businesses:
Faster customs clearance without excessive paperwork
Fewer border inspections thanks to electronic data exchange between customs authorities
A single declaration for transit through multiple countries
Reduced risk of delays and full transparency across the supply chain
Customs Logistics is already actively working with T1 and NCTS declarations for clients from Ukraine and the EU. We help businesses fully leverage the benefits of common transit — from document preparation to comprehensive customs brokerage support.
